Facebook Making a Move?

Michael Richards - Friday, April 30, 2010
Facebook is famous for its "Like" buttons... the ones with the "thumbs up" image signifying a user's recommendation of a friends posting or a Facebook ad. Now the social media giant (450+ million users) is trying to horn in on Google's territory by contracting with more than 50,000 websites to include the iconic "like" button on their websites. If you click on these "Like" buttons on these third-party sites, your recommendation will show up your Facebook page, for all your friends to see. When your friends "like" a website, you'll be able to see that too.

Some experts think Facebook wants to be a force in ranking websites, with those sites getting the most "Like" votes ranking higher than those websites which aren't so popular with Facebook users. Understandably, Google isn't happy about this.  Read this blog to learn more about Facebook's bold new plan.
